Lester Looks for Luck at Lowe's

Concord, NC | 05-16-2007

Bill Lester, driving the No. 15 Billy Ballew Motorsports Manheim Central Florida Auto Auction Chevrolet Silverado, heads to the Lowe’s Motor Speedway this Friday looking for a little luck after a disappointing appearance last season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck event.

Lester has three previous starts at the 1.5-mile speedway including his first career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series pole in 2003 and scored his best finish of sixth in 2005. Lester, finding himself out of the top-35 in points last season, missed the cut in qualifying sending the disappointed Bill Davis team home.

Lester participated in the open test last week at the speedway in Concord, NC looking to improve his run for Billy Ballew Motorsports. Lester and weekend teammate, NEXTEL Cup driver Kyle Busch, worked together and even switched trucks mid test to get a better feel for the track.

“The test was very beneficial, Lester said. “The tires were just as hard as I remember them, so hard it took nothing to chatter them. I still like Lowe's for the obvious reason of having my first ever pole there, but failing to qualify last year was a very bitter pill to swallow. Driving Kyle's truck was just as helpful to me as he said driving my truck was to him. We both learned something from the experience and plan to integrate the best qualities from each one into our separate trucks. I think we'll come back strong to Lowe's this week. Manheim Central Fl Auto Auction is on the truck as our primary sponsor this weekend and the last time we had them on board -- we had a good finish in Daytona. We are really looking forward to going out there and having a strong run for the entire Billy Ballew team.

“We are in the auto auction business and cars are our hobby so it has been a great marriage with Billy Ballew Motorsports, Manheim General Manager, Butch Herdegen said . “It has given us the opportunity and access to bring our dealers in to see first hand what a professional NASCAR team is all about. Billy, the team and the drivers have always gone out of there way to work with us and meet our dealers so it is a great experience for everyone. We had the opportunity to meet Bill (Lester) in Daytona and we know he has a lot of talent so we look forward to seeing him out front Friday night.

Manheim Central Florida Auto Auction will be the primary sponsor with Richard Tocado Companies as the associate sponsor on the No. 15 Chevrolet Silverado NASCAR Craftsman Truck. The 134 lap, 201 mile Quaker Steak & Lube 200 is slated to begin at 9:00 PM ET Friday, May 18, 2007. Live Televised coverage on SPEED begins at 8:30 PM and the race may also be heard on MRN Radio and their affiliate stations.
