LOOSE LEAVES LESTER OUT OF TOP-10 IN MICHIGAN

Brooklyn, MI | 06-18-2007

Bill Lester took to the track at the Michigan International Speedway Saturday afternoon with his best start of the 2007 season. Lester put the No. 15 *Christian Debt Consolidation Billy Ballew Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado in the fifth place position on the grid after running just one lap and posting a time of 40.500 seconds at a speed of 177.778 mph.

The drop of the green flag in the mid-afternoon heat just after final NEXTEL Cup practice left the track slick and with Lester having a free truck he had his work cut out for him. Lester held on to the truck but slid and clipped the wall slightly not sustaining any major damage. Lester kept the truck under control and was able to stay in the top-15 pack throughout the race only coming to pit road for Goodyear tires, air pressure and track bar adjustments.

The adjustments that were made in the pits as well as the movement Lester made in his line on the track allowed him to sneak closer to the top-10 and run times comparable with the leaders. But the truck had difficulty maintaining grip and Lester brought home the truck in the 15th place position posting his second top-15 finish of the 2007 season.

“Obviously, it’s not where we wanted to finish but we are making steps forward." Lester said. “Doug George and these guys on the No. 15 Christian Debt Consolidation Chevrolet Silverado team were just awesome. We thought we were just junk in practice yesterday but Doug made some great calls which paid off for qualifying and for the event. We’ll take 15th and head to Milwaukee and look for our first top-10 finish.

Lester, Ballew and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series head to the famed Milwaukee Mile for the running of the Toyota Tundra Milwaukee 200, Friday June 22, 2007. Race coverage begins live on SPPED at 8:30pm ET with the race slated to begin at 9:00pm ET
