Lester Looking for Season’s Best in Nashville

Lebanon, TN (August 8, 2007)-Bill Lester looks to score his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series seasons best finish Saturday at the Nashville Superspeedway in the No. 15 Bowen Family Homes Billy Ballew Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado.

Lester has run six previous races at the 2.5-mile superspeedway, posting both his best start of second and his best finish of seventh place in 2005. Lester has also led 22 laps at the Lebanon, TN speedway. The Billy Ballew Motorsports team has five previous runs at the Nashville track with a best start of fifth and a best finish in the 11th place position both in 2005. Lester will take to the track for the 150 lap, 200-mile race Saturday afternoon in chassis number 22, which is the same truck the team had their season to date best finish of eighth in at the Kentucky Speedway last month.

“Nashville is my kind of racetrack, Lester said. “Fast! We are bringing chassis 22 which we finished eighth in Kentucky with. It’s a great truck and I am sure that Doug (George, crew chief) and the guys on this No. 15 team have it all set up for this weekend.

Nashville is known as a track that can be difficult to master according to some drivers. But the venue is one of both the fans and the driver’s favorites on the circuits not only for the great racing but for the Gibson Guitar hand painted by Sam Bass that is given to the winner of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race.

“The surface of the race track is concrete and it is real hard on tires, Lester said. “But I like concrete surfaces because of its consistency. It's more like a short oval in that grip is more important than pure speed. It's a unique track in that it has fairly high banking and small corner radius. The track doesn't give much warning when you've reached the limit, and when it lets go it can be very sudden. Nashville is very bumpy and the concrete doesn't give a lot of grip, especially off the line but I am anticipating the challenge so I'm expecting a season's best finishing result this weekend. I’d like nothing more then to give the Georgia based sponsors, Bowen Family Homes, RedTop Auto Auction and Larry Thacker Construction at least a top-five if not a win in Nashville.

Bowen Family Homes will again come on board as the major primary sponsor with two other Atlanta Georgia area businesses; RedTop Auto Auction and Larry Thacker Construction as the primary associate sponsors.

The 14th race of the 25 race NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season at the Nashville Superspeedway is slated to begin Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 6:30pm ET. The Toyota 200 (150 laps, 200 miles) will be televised live on SPEED at 6:00pm ET with radio coverage beginning at 6:30pm ET on MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio.
